Tripa is the filler bunch at the core of the cigar. In a premium Cuban cigar it is a hand-laid mix of seco, volado and ligero leaves, balanced by the master blender for flavour, strength and combustion. Cheaper cigars use chopped or homogenised filler instead, which burns unevenly and lacks complexity.
