Within the Cuban factory naming system (the *vitola de galera*), the Pirámides size dictates precise dimensions. A classic Pirámides measures 52 ring gauge by 156 mm (6 ⅛ inches) in length.
Because the head is drawn to a point, the *torcedor* (cigar roller) must demonstrate considerable skill to finish the cap seamlessly. The gradual expansion of the ring gauge from head to foot means the draw can be adjusted based on how far down the cap is cut. The most famous example of this format is the Montecristo No. 2, which has defined the shape for decades. Other notable examples include the Partagás Serie P No. 2 and the Diplomaticos No. 2.
