Glossary entry

Humidification n.

The system that maintains correct humidity inside a humidor.

Humidification can be active (electronic units that add moisture on demand) or passive (Boveda packs, beads, or distilled water sponges). Active systems are typically used in large humidors and walk-in cabinets; passive packs are simpler and more accurate for everyday storage. Both approaches require periodic calibration.
