Warranty seal

The Habanos S.A. seal affixed across the lid of every genuine Cuban cigar box.

The Cuban Republic's warranty seal. Since 2009 it carries a hologram on the right and, on the left next to the coat of arms, a barcode unique to the box that Habanos S.A. records with the box's destination and invoice; its number can be checked on Habanos' verification site. It also has self-destructing synthetic paper, copy protection, micro-printing and a crest visible under UV light. Reading the seal is the official, authoritative half of authentication; reading the cigars themselves is the heuristic complement.
