Ring gauge n.

The diameter of the cigar measured in 64ths of an inch.

Ring gauge is the diameter of the cigar expressed in 64ths of an inch - a 50-ring-gauge cigar is 50/64 of an inch across. Combined with length, it defines the vitola. Wider ring gauges burn cooler and slower and accommodate more complex blends; narrower gauges concentrate flavour and burn faster.
