The El Rey del Mundo La Reina was introduced in 2018 as the UK Regional Edition, following renewed demand for slender ring gauge Cuban cigars. Proposed by Hunters & Frankau, the cigar revives the historic Laguito No.1 vitola (192mm x 38), a format closely associated with icons such as the Cohiba Lanceros.

Selected for its naturally elegant and approachable profile, El Rey del Mundo was chosen to showcase this slender format, offering delicate notes of cedar, cream, and subtle sweetness. The name “La Reina” reflects both the regal character of the cigar and a tribute within the UK cigar community.

In a rare move, the final blend was selected in the UK through a specialist tasting panel before approval by Habanos S.A.. Production was entrusted entirely to the prestigious El Laguito factory, where highly skilled torcedores crafted each cigar to exacting standards, complete with the signature pigtail finish.

Limited to 3,500 boxes of 24 cigars, La Reina represents a modern release rooted in Cuban tradition—combining historical vitola, meticulous craftsmanship, and UK-led curation.
